About a week ago a driver update for AMD processors
started showing up in my Windows Update scan. The date
listed is August 29th 2001 however I have never seen this
update listed until last month. There is no info in the
details and I can't find any information in the MS
knowledge base.
When it first showed up I instinctively installed it and
ran into huge performance problems. Could not get my
connection to work, etc. I couldn't find the update listed
under add/remove programs and ultimately I had to restore
my windows xp to a restore point from a day before.
Now everything works peachy but that driver update still
shows up as a choice to install. What is this? and why
is it buggy?
