AOL has its own proprietary software web based email software, which does
not allow the use of POP3 email clients like Outlook, Outlook Express,
Eudora, etc... But there is a work around. You can use the third party
utility eNetBot, which WILL allow you to use the POP3 email clients above
with AOL. You can download a 30 day trail version at:
eNetBot is easy to set up. There are screen shots at the above site, and
step by step walk through setup for each of the above email programs.
eNetBot is not free. After the 30 day free trial, it costs $19.95 to
register. A client was forced to use AOL Broadband, because his employer
supplied it. After a few days with AOL email, he was begging for a way to
use Outlook Express/Outlook for email. I directed him to eNetBot, and he is
back to using his favorite POP3 email client.
