Mike;
Read my post again. It says for whom it was intended. If that describes you
, so be it.
EULAs and all legal contracts are written by lawyers. They are not meant to
be understood by the general public. They protect those for whom they are
written , to protect themselves in every conceivable way in any
circumstance, generally to the detriment of everyone else.
I did not read the EULA . If I had , I would not have understood it.
Those who wrote it did not mean for me to understand it.
To be truthful, when I purchased my new computer I was a total novice. I had
no idea there were so many different types of XP.
I went into a computer repair facility to have work done on another computer
and ended up having to buy an new computer.
I was in a retail store. I paid retail price. I thought I had bought and
paid for a "retail" copy of XP installed on that new computer. Now I learn
it was not "retail".
I did not fall off the turnip truck recently. I know about "retail"
Wholesale , Jobbers cost, Volume rates etc. etc. But buying this computer is
the first time I have ever bought anything retail that was not " retail ". I
learned it is an OEM , which is something else altogether. And if you think
this is not a legal maneuver designed to protect a corporate entity from its
end users , what do you think.
By the way, where did you get your law degree , or did you just take offense
for no particular reason.
