Compatibility Step by Step:
1. Uninstall your present version of the game
2. Insert your game CD, if auto run starts: exit.
3. Open Windows Explorer
4. Browse to your game CD and locate the installation file. It is usually an exe file with a name like install or autoplay.
5. Create a short cut by right clicking this file and choose 'send to desktop..'
6. Close Windows Browser
7. Right click your new icon on the desktop, choose 'properties' and set your compatibility options.
8. Click the icon to install the game. If it doesn't work go back to step 4 and try a different file.
9. After installing the game locate the file starts your game. Easiest way is to right click the latest icon (installed by the game), choose 'properties' and click on 'find target'. Now proceed the same way as described in steps 4 to 7.
Hope it works like for ScrabTed

Ok, I sure appreciate your help and your trying to keep it simple for me. I not sure what you want me to do though. The scrabble program is already installed. Should I remove it first and if so then how do I create a shortcut for it if it is not installed to click on the icon? I can right click on it now and create a shortcut on my desktop but that is with it already installed. I have gone to properties and changed the compatibility to 98 from the shortcut but there is no choice to install from the shortcut and you say to install from there. Do you mean that I should create a shortcut before installing the game that will be "empty" and then when I install the game and it offers a choice of folders to be placed in, put it in that shortcut? How do I do this? Thank You again for your help and patience..

When you use compatibility mode you will have to INSTALL in this mode as well. Create a short cut to the installation program by sending a short cut to the desktop and change the short cut to the desired compatibility. Install from there and create a short cut to the installed program with the compatibility you need.

I have Win. XP but the Scrabble CD I have runs on 95 or 98. I can install it and I have tried using the compatibility wizard and settings. When I click on play my screen goes black except for the arrow which is only visible if I move it to the bottom of the screen. I end up having to do a cold shutdown of my machine to get the desktop back up. I've uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, tried various compatibility settings, and checked for updates. All without any luck. Does anyone out there have this program that can tell me how to get it to work? Infogrames doesn't support it anymore and I love to play scrabble. My PC is a HP Pavilion with Intel Celeron 1.8 GHz, 504 MB RAM. Thanks
