CRC error usually indicates a read error of a CAB or ZIP file. the file is most likely corrupt. To check it, copy the file/disk to your hard disk. If it doesn't work you can be sure something is wrong with it. Maybe Jimmy comes up with something more helpful.

I have a question and hopefully someone will be able to answer it. Why do I keep getting a crc error when I try installing games? It says the that the file doesn't match the setup.cabs file. Here are things that I have already done:.
Replaced mobo, reinstalled windows, replaced video card, replaced the sound card and, replaced the dvd drive. Today I'm upgrading the memory. I can not think of anything else.
I am absolutely sure it isn't the disk because I just took it out of the box. This happens with some games and others are fine. Also I am getting an error message when I start windows; "The instruction at "0x00640041" referenced memory at "0x00640041", the memory could not be written. I have read somewhere that this may becaused by the sound card or eax. Is this true? Furthermore, could this be an issue with the windows installer or .net framework? I really am at my end. I have brought my computer to 3 different techs and they all say something different. Now I need to ask all of you out there for the answer. PLEASE help me.
