Hi John R,
Since that problem just started happening recently, try a System Restore.
How to use Windows XP System Restore:

| Home Edition came with Accessories and Games. In Accessories there is
| Character Map, Clipboard Viewer, Desktop Wallpaper, Document Template, Mouse
| Pointer and MS Paint. In Games there is Hearts, Internet Games, Minesweeper,
| Solitaire and Spider Solitaire. Currently I can run Clip Board Viewer MS
| Paint and Spider Solitaire. These are the only ones. With Add Windows
| Components it will not read from the CD which is an XP Home Edition upgrade.
| Looking in the System folder only MS Paint, Clip Board and Spider Solitaire
| could be found. How can I restore the missing files? Is there another place
| I should look? Thanks John R
