If this is so, then why does it keep asking for a standard VGA when I try
to install? And, I don't have a desktop, I have a laptop, Toshiba Satellite

When you uninstall the manufacturer's provided video drivers and then start
the computer and Windows starts Windows will, by default, install the VGA
drivers it has in its database. So, that means if you are at a desktop, you
have standard VGA already installed. While it may look crappy that's what it
is and what you get.
