My first thought was something with the Nvidia driver, so I had updated to 9131.
The "lock-up" still occured, so I updated DirectX to the latest release.
That did not fix the issue.
I even thought it may be related to the games being installed before running SP2 installer, but after un-installing and using Nortons Disk Wipe to remove any trace of the folders and files the problem still occured.
