Ive tried add/remove programs but the cd still isnt being read, also tried autorun but will not read cd Can anybody helpCan you play audio CDs in that drive? This is to determine if the drive hardware is functioning.
Many software publishers produce disks that don't comply with industry standards in an effort to reduce the loss of sales that results from people copying the disks. Unfortunately that practice makes the disks incompatible with a few models of CD drives.
Contamination and damage to the bottom of optical media can interfere with operation. In addition to cleaning the disk, some music and software retailers sell kits that allow consumers to repair minor scratches in optical media.
Nobody will be able to help much more unless you provide some information about you Operating System (OS) version, if your drive is also a DVD reader or CD burner, the name of the game and the game's hardware and OS requirements/suggestions.
It's starting to look like your drive is having hardware problems. Start saving up for a replacement.
