Tried it but didn't work - apparently a sound file didn't transfer from the
disk. Every time I've tried tranferring the CDs to the hard drive there's
been missing files, I think it might have something to do with the copy
protection. Thanks anyway though
.I have had reasonable success with copying the _*whole*_ disks to a sub
folder on C drive (named mine install ;-) , eg c:\install). To copy i
use this run command: xcopy d:\*.* /s c:\install (replace d with your cd
drive letter). This will give you three sub folders for installation.
All you have to do is enter the location of the next disk (eg
c:\install\movies2) when prompted for the next disk.
One way to try is safe mode and install then. And yes, some programs
create user files in your My Documents folder, Stronghold2 for example.
Guess it is for easy backup.
The cut and paste doesn't work most of the times as there are in most
cases files that need to be expanded.
Good Luck

Thanks for the suggestion Jimmy, a checked out Event Viewer & it claims that
many of my attempts to install the game were successfully completed. This
isn't true, as not only have I gotten to as much as see the game yet, no data
has actually transferred to my HD (Apart from what I describe below)
A few other things which I've noticed too, which may hopefully ring some
bells for some of you:
1) I've been getting error messages claiming that directx 9 isn't installed
on my machine (It is). Another message suggested that there may be some
problem with my video card's settings and that I should switch on
acceleration. Now acceleration is def. switched on - does anyone know of any
settings that have been known to interfere with the Movies install process?
3) Additionally, after trying a method suggested to me whereby you install
the 1st disc, then cut & paste the contents of the others in the folder
created, a 'The Movies' folder has appeared in My Documents - It contains
folders labelled 'Saved Games', 'Movies', 'Starmaker', 'CustomCostumes' etc.
They're clearly there for storing user-created information, but is this
folder meant to be in My Documents?
This is ridiculous. I've been tinkering with this thing for 3 days now &
haven't even got to SEE the game :( Like I said, on paper my system should
be able to run it easily. Maybe I should just try switching off various video
card settings & seeing how that effects things? Really need help here guys,
I'd hate to have to return this game as I've been hanging out for it ever
since it was first announced but I'm running out of ideas here

Hi CavG,
Take a look in the Event Viewer to see if it offers any clues...
Click Start > RUN and type the following:
