Re: installed directx 9.0c but dxdiag shows 9.0b ???

If you run a search for these files you will see that they are in different versions in different folders. You could try to copy the newest version into all the other folders. Caution!! I would suggest that you first backup the older versions - copy them into 'my documents' or even better rename them (d3d8_old.dll for example).
