Thanks for the reply.
Rather than clutter the forums with why and what for, I thought I'd try to
send you an email and update you on my situation, but your server rejected
it. So I'll clutter the forums with this.
I did everything you said as to downloading the application and installing
it and creating a batch file. I ran the batch file and sat back and waited
while a DOS window popped up and managed to scroll away crazily on my
monitor, then a red bar with some information in it sat there and files were
processed. It took all of 15 to 20 minutes the first time I ran it.
When it was done, I reinstalled the game(s) I am having permissions problems
with and tried to play them. No joy! :(
I thought well maybe the batch file thingie was supposed to write
permissions to the games which were not on my system at the time of the first
running of the batch file, so I reran the batch file and this time it took a
matter of two minutes to do the whole process.
Rebooted and tried the game(s) ... No joy.
Not sure what my problem is. I did not have these issues when I ran XP
Home with SP1, I only have these problems with the SP2 Installation.
I can do anything I want with my system. I can add software, hardware, etc.
As I said on the forums, I only have the one account on this system, and
it's the default administrator/single user account. I do not have to choose
a user to log in when I boot the system, it goes straight to my desktop.
The only thing I can figure, (and this is from someone who has slight
knowledge) is that there are certain security permissions that are now ticked
on with SP2 that were not ticked on with SP1. I just need to find them.
