Links 2003

I recently bought a Sony Vaio RS704 with 1GB memory, ATI Radeon 9600 graphics
card, running XP Home, Norton Internet security, DirectX9.0.
Bought Links 2003, seemed to install OK, but when I try to run program, get
the following error message.
"STOP : FAILED (0x80004002 - WINERR_No such interface supported ) -
QueryInterface(IDirectSound3DBuffer from 0x3400128)"

Can anyone offer any advice?
