Hi Gordon,

Definitely disable or uninstall Norton's 2005 to see it's causing
those problems, especially since they only started afterwards.

| I'm having the same problem. When I click in the .exe for Vice City, the
| mouse pointer turns into a spinning cd icon, the cd spins up inside the cd
| player for a few moments... and then nothing happens. In fact, I can't even
| eject the Vice City cd- eject doesn't respond- without restarting computer.
| This happened with external cd player, too. I'm running WinXP Home SP2 on a
| system admin account. It ran fine for several days after intalling SP2, I
| also installed Norton AV 2005 yesterday. Maybe that is the problem? I was
| hoping for some online help before I start uninstalling things. (I already
| tried uninstalling and reinstalling gta vc: no change in behavior.)
