Could you go Start, Run, "dxdiag", go to the "display" tab, and test
DirectDraw and Direct3D and post the results.
You could try updating your graphics driver, but honestly, if everything is
failing... it sounds like hardware. I'd try the above mentioned items and
then start reseating hardware, starting with the graphics card. If you have
an old graphics card, I'd put it in and see if that worked.
I'll throw in the other stock questions as well: Have you applied all of the
Windows XP critical updates?
