Sean,
I use ACPI. I have two units one running XP Pro, the other XPE. I did a
quick Device Manager comparison. XPE was missing some components such as
Batteries (Microsoft AC Adapter, Microsoft System Management BIOS Driver). I
have added these two components and going to test now. Do you know why the
system management BIOS driver was missing in the first place ?. I thought
Target Designer is smart enough to pull it in but I had to add it manually.
Thanks

Not really, what is the Computer Component that is being used? Is it
Advanced Computer and Power Management interface. or one of the other
possible 6?

Sean,
Is there any way I could set the standby state (S1 or S3 or S1/S3) in
Target
Designer ?.
Thanks

If you are not sure about the video, looking in Device Manager and see
what
display adapter driver is loaded. If is is the standard VGA, then
incorrect
driver is loaded.

HI Sean,
Thanks for your response. I am not sure about #1. I am using a feature
pack
from Kontron (ETX-PM Kontron SBC) for XP Embedded. It has all the
necessary
components. So I believe the video driver is part of the package I got.
I
am
pretty sure that hibernation is not enabled, hibernation and standby ?.
I
thought they were different. Let me enable it tomorrow and give it a
try.

1. Do you have the video driver for your video card in the image?
2. Did you check to enable Hibernation in the ACPI computer component?

Hi There,
I had a post earlier about standby/resume functionality on XPE. I
tested
this feature on XP Pro and it works fine. I couldn't make it work on
XP
Embedded. I have all the ACPI components, I am using Winlogon. Are
there
any
other components I am missing ?. Why is it working on XP Pro and not
on
XPE
?.
I select Standby using the Start Menu (Turn Off Computer/Standby),
the
system is getting into Standby mode without any problem, the issue
is
waking
up. It won't wake up and I had to restart the machine.
Any ideas why this is happening ?
Thanks
SC
KM,
I am having problems with Windows XP Embedded standby mode. Win XP
Pro
is
working fine. I have included all the necessary ACPI components. I
am
using
Winlogon. Do you know what I may be missing ?. XP Embedded worked
just
once
and it stopped working. XP Pro is fine all the time.
thanks

KM,
It worked with Winlogon, do you know why Minlogon is not working ?.
Is
there
a patch for the standby/resume problem for Minlogon ?. Please let
me
know.
thanks

I am having problems coming out of standby mode. Windows XPE goes
to
standby
mode when I pressed the "Standby" on bezel key of my display.
Windows
never
responds when its in "standby".
Do you know what could be the reason ?. My BIOS has some power
settings
S1,
S3 and S1/S3. The current setting is S3, I also tried S1. It
didn't
make any
difference.
One thing I should mention is that it was working fine with XP
Pro.
Thanks
