The solution Brad posted is using WinPE as the OS for deployment. The
alternative is to use RBS and use an XPe RAM boot image to download another
XPe image to a local hard drive.

Hi Sean,
No I wasn't referring to a POS iso. I want to install XPe using the
RIS, so it is easier for our production environment.
Ah, it looks like Brad Combs has posted exactly what I was looking
for:
http://xpefiles.com/cs/blogs/bcombs/archive/2007/11/28/howto-using-windows-deployment-server-to-deploy-xp-embedded-runtime-images.aspx
Here is what I was referring to for using RIS to boot a XPe ISO boot
disc, which was causing me the confusion:
http://xpefiles.com/cs/blogs/bcombs/archive/2007/08/21/howto-using-windows-pe-2-0-and-image-x-to-deploy-windows-xp-embedded.aspx
I was thinking we had to install the .iso file onto the RIS server,
but it is actually the .wim file that gets setup with the RIS.
Part of the issue is our IT staff is implementing the RIS server
setup, so I have no interface or understanding of the inner workings
of RIS, just that it is supposed to allow us to install an OS from a
network boot environment. Therefore I am relying on our IT staff to
tell me what they need/expect.
Like I mentioned, I believe Brad's blog post that actually went up
yesterday morning resolved my question, but we shall see. I will post
about the results after we have tested his post out.
umm... errr... IT Staff in this instance is Rico! haha, didn't look
at the email address in the post.

ISO image of XPe install disk? I have never heard of this. XPe gets

You can install WEPOS via RIS.

I thought RIS was supported for installing an ISO image of an XPe
install disc, so long as your PC and boot from PXE.
Am I incorrect in that belief?

I have an XP embedded image but cannot get it to load via RIS. Can
someone
send me a link or instructions to install via RIS.
