That capability is already in the tools - Create a filter based on a file name. There is also my Component Hunter tool, which does the same thing, but without having to go through a filter.

For MFC components some of the latest versions have moved into the .NET Framework so you have to pull the individual files out.

I have been ussing embedded for a while now and its lacking 1 major future : the components filelist.

Why?

Often an embedded image doesnt work because you are missing files which different apps need. Finding the missing component is a tedius job.........
Strategy for now is to use filemon to find out the missing file then trying to find the component that contains the file : and this is a real pain in the **s,
Example :
lotsa application use the runtime C++ files like msvcr71.dll

So logically u would expect it to be in Visual C++ runtime component. Well its not in this component and i still dont know where it is (i use the redstributable download to add the files instead).

So it would be handy to have somehow a search functionwhich would locate files in components.
Any thoughts about this or a solution?
