1. You will want to use FAT as the file systems since EWF doesn't protect the whole partition using NTFS.
2. The only time it writes to the EWF partition is when there is a change to EWF.

I've been reading up on using the EWF RAM Reg mode to write protect my CF
boot media, and I'm trying to determine if it allows for the protected volume
to be completely ROM in order to satisfy an industry standard requiring a
static signature.

It's my understanding that the EWF volume in this mode is stored in the
registry on the protected volume, but I am not so clear on when, if, or how
often XPe writes to the EWF volume.
