Upgrading Machines in the Field.

My ealier question about adding the .NET 2.0 frame is part of larger
question,
Say you have machines in the field that all have embedded xp installed
on these
machines but have not technicians to upgrade them. All you have is FTP
and DUA,
are there any facilities to do do a completely new install? And this
new Install
would contain NET 2.0 among other softwares that were not included on
the
machines (because .NET 2.0/3.0 was not present when the machines were
shipped.)
Is there some 3rd party tool that could do that for me?
