Guys, is this because of an unfinished update in MS Office? There's a
hotfix for the memory leak (related to SVCHOST running the CPU to 100%
during the update and then generating a memory error "accessed memory
0x0??????? at 0x000000000" etc...) located on the MS site here:

I hope that helps. I've had to walk several people through this who
attempted to update MS Office 2003 in the past few days.
