Amit,
It is indeed a feature of OE (5.5/6.0) to switch to a default folder (Document&Settings\<user profile>\...) if the folder path
specified in registry does not exist or not available.
I don't think there is anyway to change this behavior of OE.
As a workaround you can create a little app that would be launched by end users instead of OE. The app can check if the message
store folder exist. If not, it may fail out and show an error message to the user. Otherwise, it can just launch OE (via
CreateProcess).

Hello All,
Actually My Xp embedded image is having outlook express component and i want
to configure it to any external mapped drive, so that all mail profiles are
diverted tp this mapped drive on server.
Now I had achieved this by referring to this link.......
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/175037/en-us?spid=2578&sid=global
But the problem is incase the mapped drive is not available or disconnected
and outlook express is invoked than it changes the new mapped drive setting
in regdit to the default value(system root Key)
Can anyone suggest a way to configure it permanently to mapped drive.
