Installing SMS Client

I am having problems getting the SMS client to install to my Windows XP
Embedded systems.

Can the software be loaded directly on the thin client? I have tried and it
seems to complain about connecting to a database.

I have seen documentation on using Embedded studio, but I have not been able
to locate a copy or know where to find one. Any ideas where to look?
