No version of Windows comes with a MPEG2 decoder - not even Media
Centre
You have to add in a 3rd party codec, such as the one produced by
EleCard:
http://www.elecard.com/products/products-pc/codec-pack/149/mpeg2-decoder
(No connection with them, have played with their codec in the past
though)
