Deployed Image Won't Boot After Using 'diskpart' running from RAMDisk

I have been using 'sdimgr \\remote_computer\share\deployable_image.sdi
/writedisk:0 /yes" successfully to deploy from an XPe image running
from RAMDisk for some time now, however, just ran into a problem that
others may have experienced.
When I execute 'diskpart' after sdimgr /writedisk has completed, in
order to extend the partition of the disk image previously written, the
image is not bootable and generates the following error: "A disk read
error has occurred. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete...".
I Google-searched this ng and came up with similar posts, but have
found no answer yet.

Everything works on same HW and same BIOS, provided I execute
'diskpart' while running from IDE-based system (not RAMDisk).
Anyone have thoughts or workarounds?
Best regards,
Brian
