Was that XPe version of the driver INF? I don't see support for 1011 there. This is why 1010 gets installed during FBA, I think.

Can you also post the INF from XP Pro version of the driver? (btw, this really sounds scary - two versions of the driver INFs for
XPP and XPe).

Also, you may want to increase the logging level of Setup API on your target. Then you should be able to see more info and details
about what's going on with the adapter install.

Of course,

it is a special version for XPe from Intel. I think the problem is caused by
the hardware. Because the driver sends a DIF_PROPERTYCHANGE event to the
device manager. But the driver sends the wrong device ID to the device
manager.
The installations works but the network settings are destroyed on XPe. On
Win Pro there is more intelligance an the network. The settings are adapted
from the originals (it seems so) and therefore you do not notice the wrong ID
on Win Xp Pro.
