How to configure so that a CF is detected as Secondary or Primary MASTER IDE?

My objective is to install Win XPE in a CF that will be booted on a
device. But in order to do that, I need to configure so that the BIOS
of the the target device detect the CF as a MASTER (either it is
Primary or Secondary). My problem is that the BIOS of the device target
detect it as a Secondary SLAVE. I don't know how and where I should
configure that. I wanted to use atcfwchg to change something about it,
but each time I use it I receive the "fail (error #20)" error message.
I read somewhere that the program works when the CF is detected as a
MASTER, which is my objective from the beginning...

To sum up everything, I think I have to configure somehow the CF to IDE
Adaptor in order to resolve my problem. I'm still searching for that,
but if someone can tell me some clues about that, it would be great
help.
