How to prevent a not booting system

I created a working configuration for a standard pc board, protected the
system drive with ewf and deployed it on a hard disk.
Everithing is working perfectly but if I occasionally delete some system
files (or the whole hard disk) like it can happen with viruses, the system
will not boot again (of course ...).
I know that while booting I can press F8 and restore the system drive
protected image, loosing all the changes, but letting the system operate as
if it was new, that's ok, I tried it and it also works perfectly.
The problem is that my system will not work with an attached keyboard and
the cpu board will be placed in not (easily) accessible positions.
So, if the system does not boot, for any reason (I talked abot a virus
before but it was just an example, I'm not looking for an anti virus
solution here), how can I restore it without accessing it, or how can I
prevent this situation ? Hardware failures are not contempled here of
course, I assume that the disk is always good and working.

I think that deploying on flash disks would not solve the problem, and boot
from network it is not a feasible solution for us.

Any ideas or suggestions ?

Thanks
Francesco
