Every manufacturer has its own utility that must be used to mark the cards
of this manufacturer as fixed.

If you put /SOS switch in boot.ini you may be able to see were it hangs.
Also, KD (kernel Debugger) will may show you more info, especially if you
use debug version of nt loader from DDK.

PS. On www.xpefiles.com you will find a sample (Hitachi microdrive) driver
that ignores the removable bit from the card and forces the system to see it
as fixed. (although it won't help you with boot issues)
