Hi Andrew. The question was in regards to a component needing to "know"
how it was brought into a configuration - how was it brought in and if
it was automaticly added though dependencies then "who" brought it in.
This is not currently possible with existing CMI for XPe.

If this is an ask of you as well, then I totally understand you're
frustration here. Find the form i appended to the other mail in this
thread and send us your feedback or suggestions.
