I just installed a PCI Adapter (USB2.0/FireWire Combo by
D-Link: DFB-A5)

The drivers for USB 2.0 are on the D-Link CD, but the
drivers for IEEE1394
are supposed to be already in the Windows XP Operating
system. However, I
am unable to use the IEEE1394 ports on my card because it
is not recognized.
The Device Manager shows a yellow exclaimation mark next
to the the new device.
D-Link customer service says there is nothing they can do
because the IEEE1394
drivers are supposed to be built in to the XP Operating
System.

It's either the card, the slot or the XP drivers...I
believe. The USB 2.0 ports on the new card work fine, so
I don't think the card is bad. I believe my XP (version
2002, service pack 1) does not have good IEEE1394 drivers
built in the way it is supposed to. What in the world
can I do about that?

Any ideas!?
