Hi,

First, please pardon any ignorance on my part as to the
tech aspects of my computer. Needed some help - thought
this might be a good place to start.

I have a laptop with Windows XP operating system. 2 days
ago I ran the most recent updates available from MS (in
order to try to guard against that recent virus). Anyway,
now I am having issues with my iTunes and my iPod. My
computer will not recognize the iPOd anymore. It says it
does not recognize the USB device. And when it does
finally seem to recognize it and begins to update my
iPod's music from iTunes, it quickly freezes up and an
error message comes up saying that a drive is open
(Drive :E) though my disk drive is not open. Or it says a
drive is open and refers to \DEVICE\HARDDISK1\DR2.

The Apple folks thought it was a problem with windows, not
the Pod. Near as I can figure my installation of the
updates may have triggered this. Is there anything I can
do? Should I just uninstall them? Is that possible?

Thanks in advance,

Claudia
