Hi,
Everyonce and a while my computer will reboot. Right before the reboot
I notice the sound will stutter then poof!! Rebooting. It seems to
happen when I am watching a DVD, TV and doing other things at the same
time. I can never duplicate it when I want to. I debugged the stack
dump and found this;
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid)
address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If kernel debugger is available get stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: 82400000, memory referenced
Arg2: 00000009, IRQL
Arg3: 00000000, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
Arg4: b2f4d961, address which referenced memory

-----------------------------------------
This never happened before I got my new motherboard and CPU. A couple
websites reported it could be a problem with my acpi driver and there
is a hotfix for it. However, the error isn't exactly like mine. I
noticed that the offending driver is my sound blaster driver.
I guess I should also note that I chaged slots for my sound card and
did a fresh install. I also have all the latest drivers. Mini dump is
the same each time.
Also, "CURRENT_IRQL: 9" <----- what does that mean? The IRQ for ACPI
is on 9???
What should the ACPI settings for my BIOS be? I enabled it and enabled
2.0 compliance.
Any Ideas?
Thanks
