cd rom driver

I am trying to load my new software but it will not come
up and I went into the device manager and check out the
properties for the cd rom device and this was in the
message box windows cannot load the device for this
hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing (code
39).
I was not having this problem before. Can some one pleae
help me? New computer user Thanks
