What programs are shutting your system down without 1st asking???
Having done numerous updates and installs I have very rarely run across a program nowadays that does not tell you it needs to shut down for the update/install to complete..........it doesn't mean you need to do it right then and there but....

Sorry to all, I didn't explain my question as well as I should have..
MS Updates is only an example. What I am looking for is a way to prevent ANY program (service) from shutting down (and/or restarting) the system. I want to be able to shutdown and restart only when I want.
Sorry for the incomplete question.
Thanks...

I would like to know if I can prevent XP from shutting (and/or restarting) UNTIL I decide to do so?
In other words, I don't want XP updates (or anything) to shutdown and restart my system. I've looked at all the Policies and can't see anything obvious.
Thanks in advance.
