Re: RUN command missing from start menu

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Ok thx,
I restored my clock back but when I click on the items on your link to
enable my registry iI get a box says run or save. when I click run I get the
same error that registry has been disabled. The same happens when I click on
the other for the on/off. I get the same error telling me the reg editor has
been disabled by the administrator. I also get the same error when I use the
Win key + R.
Any more suggestions? Thx, Sweets

My RUN is gone from my start menu. Its not listed under start menu
options. How can I replace it?

Run Missing From Start Menu

If you are using a stand alone computer...

Pressing the Windows key + the R key will open Run.

With the XP Start Menu...
Right click the Start button | Properties |
Start Menu tab | Customize button |
Advanced tab | Scroll down and check:
Run command | Click OK | Click Apply | Click OK

With the Classic Start Menu...
Right click the Start button | Properties |
Start Menu tab | Customize button |
Check: Display Run | Click OK | Click Apply | Click OK

If the above did not work...

Go here...
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Read the instructions at the top of the page.
57. Right hand side.
Restore the Run Command

norun.reg is the file that you want.

Also, my Shutdown is gone from the start menu, how can I replace that?

NoClose Disables and removes the Turn Off Computer button from the Start
Menu.

Go here...

267. Restore "Turn Off and Log Off" - Start Menu

My Registry Editor has been disabled too. How can I enable it?

Registry Editing has been disabled by your administrator
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/tweakuirest.htm

Or...
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
213. Disable or Enable Registry Editing Tools

Click on Enable
for disableregistrytoolsundo.reg

Right click disableregistrytoolsundo.reg and select Merge.

And last, my clock is showing military time, which I dont want

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Regional and Language Options |
Customize button | Time tab |

Change any UPPERCASE H to lowercase h.

The lowercase h denotes the 12 hour clock and uppercase H denotes the 24
hour clock.

H = Hours without leading zeros for single digit hours (24 hour clock).
HH = Hours with leading zeros for single digit hours (24 hour clock).
h = Hours without leading zeros for single digit hours (12 hour clock).
hh = Hours with leading zeros for single digit hours (12 hour clock).

If you do not see the format you want in Time format, follow these
guidelines:
Display time in a 12-hour format: Type lowercase h or hh for the hour

Display leading zeros in single-digit hours: Type two characters, hh

Suppress the display of leading zeros in single-digit hours, minutes, or
seconds: Type a single lowercase letter, such as h, m, or s

Display a single letter to indicate AM or PM: Type lowercase t

Display two letters to indicate AM or PM: Type lowercase tt

Display text: Type single quotation marks (') around text

To change the way your computer displays the time
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/int_pr_time.mspx?mfr=true

HKCU\Control Panel\International
Value Name: iTime
Data Type: REG_SZ
Value Data: 0 or 1
0 = 12-hour clock
1 = 24-hour clock
