The Blue Background/White text is an option in the Word settings. Tools/Options/General tab.
Regardless what theme you are using, the application and window background can be customized using the display settings. Right click the desktop and select Properties/Appearance Tab/Advanced Button. In the Item drop down menu use the "Application" and "Window" items to change the background and font colors.
If this doesn't work for you, you can get an unlimited number of custom themes on the internet.

The black text on a white background is quite annoying. Is there any.
global Windows XP theme which has a dark background and can be used
with all programs (doesn't cause issues when non-black text is used)?
The Blue background in Word makes some text invisible... So, I want
something better for that, as well as Eclipse (where I can manually
adjust each of the colors, but it's a pain).
Thanks
