Re: Changing from multi user to single user in XP

I find what has been discussed ok, but I want to permanently get rid of
Administrator, all userrs, Owner, and default users, and just have one called
hp_administrator. Every time I want to find something I have to search all
those places. WHY? Outlook for example saves stuff in Owner, HP_admin, etc.
Please there is just me and they should have given me that option I believe
if I am only one person.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Rick Thanks for that.
I had already been down that road. What I would really like to get
rid of is the C:\Documents and Settings\User or All Users chain.
You can't delete it because it's part of the system. I think I will
either have to resort to putting more files directly on C:\ or make
more desktop shortcuts (which can slow down shutdown time) Oh Dear !
What a pain?
Thanks again... Eric

Eric,
On my system, which has only one user - me (Trevor) as Administrator
there are both
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users
and
C:\Documents and Settings\Trevor

All Users has all the Start Menu Shorcuts in C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs (I move them there when they end up in my personal
folder) but otherwise this folder (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users) is
nearly empty

C:\Documents and Settings\Trevor has everything else

Works fine for me.

BTW, the start menu picks up shortcuts in both folders:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs
C:\Documents and Settings\Trevor\Start Menu\Programs

I don't actually use the Start Menu much.

I have another folder Utilities under the Desktop, into which I put
shortcuts to my commonly used programs
e.g. (and this is only a few of them)
