I used OE to retrieve my Hotmail account also. The only thing I noticed
when I looked over my account setup was that the password field "grays out"
when I uncheck the "remember password" setting. Other settings that I have
checked are "Include this account when receiving mail or syncronizing",and
"Always connect to this account using". The Hotmail installation is pretty
automatic but I know there is a disclaimer about no support for using OE to
receive your Hotmail.

OE retrieves mail from my hotmail account and it prompts me for password.
Going to Tools/Accounts /Mail/Properties-I have checked the box to
remember the password.
Again when I send or receive mail it prompts me for password -pops the box
with user name
and password already filed up(option to remember password grayed out).
Is there a way to get rid of this annoying box? make it receive and send
automatically?
