I've written a couple of scripts for this.
The first will wipe out all saved views, up the limit for saved views, then allow you to define a
view for a folder an apply it to all its subfolders. The link is:

The second script preserves existing saved views and only modifies the folder(s) and subfolders you
select. That link is:
