Control Panel -> Printers and Faxes -> right click the printer you
don't want and delete it.

| I've got a printer connected to a W98SE machine that is shared on a
SOHO
| network with my XP-Home-SP2 machine. Because the W98 driver will not
work
| with XP, as instructed by the printer manufacturer, I installed an
XP driver
| for the printer on the XP machine. Everything works, but now I have
the
| printer listed twice on my printers list. Once as the share, and
once as the
| printer name which is grayed out (obviously). I want to rename the
gray
| printer "X-Printer" so it will reside at the bottom of the list so
others do
| not select it, but can't (there is no printer connected). Right now
it is at
| the top of the list when printers are selected from apps.
| How can I edit this name?
| Can I delete the printer name from the list without deleting the
driver?
