Regrettably, ASR is one of several functions in Windows that *still*
(unbelievably) requires a floppy, a standard floppy that is, USB will not
qualify UNLESS that USB floppy perhaps can be mapped by your laptop BIOS to
a standard floppy (not common, but perhaps possible). It's why I still, to
this day, ALWAYS keep a cheap standard floppy on every system. It's a pain
we have to support this antiquated device, but it's an even bigger pain when
you HAVE to have it and don't!

So I don't think there's a workaround (it's hard to even find worlarounds
for the other cases). But with some persistent Googling, who knows, you may
find somebody who's tackled the problem and found a solution.
