I remember a while back there was a special shell you could load for kids so that they only had big icons of their progams and a special desktop for
shutdown and other features. Does anyone know if there is a feature, shell,
or program that makes it very easy for 3-5 year olds to start up their
programs. I believed it was called MOM or something like that.
If not, does anyone have any suggestions on custom destops for kid so they
don't go trashing the file system by clicking every thing they see until the
PC explodes.

I think some of those kinds of features can be helpful, ... build them out of closures, just like in Scheme, or mix the approaches, ... people with minimal coding aptitude have been able to use it, therefore kids... subset on top of Javascript, especially if you didn't care about tail ...
