Firstly thanks for the quick reply. in answer to your
questions, i initially typed www.google.com and the error
messege appeared
"there was a problem sending the command to the program"
the ie window remains blank, including the address bar on
it. when i press stop this is the file path:
"res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/navcancl.htm"
if i add http:// to the website address in the address
bar on the windows taskbar, the error messege pop up does
not occur, but when i press stop on the browser, the file
path is exactly the same. i can navigate using the
address bar on the task bar through my own files on my
hard disk. also, when i activate the links tool bar on
the taskbar, it works fine. it opens a new window and
loads the site i choose.
