"Lost" Show Desktop Icon

Not entirely sure this is what you want, but to make the
defualt profile contain the desklink icon, go into one of
the existing profiles that still has it and copy it to the
quick launch folder, or if it's only for a specific user
copy it to that user instead.

furthermore show desktop is NOT a link, it's a script.

your administrator's profile will have the file here:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\show desktop

copy the file to here for a specific user:

C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

or to here to include it in the default profile:

C:\Documents and Settings\default user\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

as far as I am aware you can't put it in "All Users" and
expect it to work.
