If Kelly's suggestion doesn't work, you could try the following:

In Linux, create a one-line batch file (text file with a .bat extension) with the following command:

C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna\luna.msstyles

Place the batch file in your startup directory (C:\Documents and Settings\Keith\Start Menu\Programs\Startup)

Then when you log in, the display properties dialog will be launched with the default XP style selected. Pressing <Enter> should apply it and you should be back in business.
