RE: Hide inactive programs under Start?

Right-click on the folder you wish to hide, select properties. In the box that appears, put a tick in the box next to hide.
Click on apply - This will hid the folder from view.

If you later wish to access it, right-click on 'All Programs', select explore and then via tools/options, untick the hide folders option and you'll be able to access or modify the hidden folders properties.
