dont know if this will help you.
but at a CMD prompt you can try to Telnet to port 25 of
mail.comcast.net and see if you get a reply
when trying to telnet to Port25 of Mail.comcast.net i
recived the following error. Count not open connection
to the host on port 25: connection failed.
from this Error I would have to say the problem is with
Comcast not you. as there mail server is not answering.

XFOR: Telnet to Port 25 of IMC to Test IMC Communication
this artical ewxplanes how to use Telnet to test the IMC
for Internet mail. and this will work for any SMTP mail
server.
