I am also getting a fatal error when I am trying to install service
Pack three. There are three updates that will not load. It says
cannot complete install because of a fatal error. That sounds scary!
Forget SP3 for XP: It's still buggy. Wait for the production release
later this year.
....
even took my computer in for repairs and DATA DRS could not figure
this out. Can someone please enlighten me? My Computer (when I run
Don't go to Data Drs again; and tell your friends.
my Sonic Digital Media Plus program ONLY) comes up with an error and
an automatic install (or at least tries to) of something called SCAN
SOFT OMNIPAGE SE 4.0
Uninstall OmniPage 4 AND your scanner/drivers. That's an ancient
version of OmniPage software and could well be part of the problem.
Leave it uninstalled until you get the computer working right again.
Can I assume you have XP? Which version?
Where did you get your XP CD from?
I have searched the microsoft website and HP for a patch or
installation updates etc. I cant find anything. When I bought the
computer it was an open box deal and the only disc in here was a
lightscribe CD. (for the lightscribe software) I am upset because
it never did it until recently.
What can I do? Please help if you can.
Answer these questions and come back with the results. Than perhaps
someone can help if it still has problems.

I've recently installed a scanner driver that is compatible with my
OS (Windows XP). I've installed it correctly because the scanner
works. However, I keep having a pop-up that says that Widows is
trying to configure Ominis 4.4 which is a program in the scanner's
CD-ROM. This has occured ever since I installed the scanner (and
it took my computer days before it reacted to the scanner being
turned on).
My computer has slowed noticeably.
I have tried uninstalling and installing but the problem remains.
Thank you for any help.
