what is svchost.exe and how it's important??

my laptop shows that svchost.exe refers to the memory that may haVE
problem and ask me to choose to terminate or debug the program. When
I choose debug, my laptop will be extremely slow and not reponse to
any command, included CTRL+ALT+DEL. If I choose cancel, It seems
normal to be used. But somtimes the error windows shows again and ask
the same. How can I deal with this problem. Can I delete the file
svchost.exe or disable it not to run when the windows start up ?

please help .
thank you so much
